Triad Local First is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.  This policy states Triad Local First’s position on discrimination.

Triad Local First is committed to encouraging and sustaining a learning and work community that is free from discrimination in employment and opportunity because of race, color, religion, national origin, disability, veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity, sex, genetic information, or age in any of its activities or operations.  These activities include, but are not limited to, hiring and firing of staff, selection of volunteers and vendors, and provision of services.

Any Triad Local First affiliate who, in good faith, reports an act of discrimination as described above will be protected from retaliation (defined as an adverse action taken because an individual has engaged in protected activities), threats of retaliation, discharge, or change in compensation or terms and conditions of employment that are directly related to the disclosure of such information.  In addition, no affiliate may be adversely affected because they refused to carry out a directive which constitutes discrimination as described above, or is a violation of local, state, federal, or other applicable laws and regulations.
